Delight in these creamy, coffee-infused Tiramisu Bars that combine classic Italian flavors into an easy-to-serve dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strong brewed espresso, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the mixture and layer them evenly in an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.
  3. Beat in mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks.
  5. In another clean bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold in powdered sugar.
  6. Carefully fold the whipped cream and then the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture, keeping it light and airy.
  7. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfinger layer.
  8. Add a second layer of dipped ladyfingers, then cover with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
  10. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade espresso and chill the bars overnight. Serve chilled with a sprinkle of dark chocolate shavings for an elegant touch.
