Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites

Deliciously simple and elegant, these Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites combine creamy mozzarella with savory prosciutto for a perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 12 small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 12 thin slices of prosciutto
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Toothpicks, for assembling

Instructions

  1. Drain the mozzarella balls and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Lay out each slice of prosciutto flat on a clean surface.
  3. If using, place a fresh basil leaf on each slice of prosciutto.
  4. Place one mozzarella ball at one end of the prosciutto slice.
  5. Carefully roll the prosciutto around the mozzarella ball to wrap it completely.
  6. Secure each wrapped bite with a toothpick.
  7. Arrange the bites on a serving platter and drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Finish with a sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper.
  9. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a touch of sweetness and acidity, drizzle with a balsamic glaze just before serving.
